ATTENTION 8th GRADE DANCERS!!! 

Are you interested in taking Dance at Ridge High School? 

If so, you can sign up for Dance I
 OR 
If you have 5+ years of experience in dance you may be eligible to bypass Dance I and audition for Dance II. 

You must audition for approval to take Dance II. 
You must be in grades 9-12 for the 2023-2024 school year. 

How does the audition work?
The audition will be in person on February 15th from 3:00-5:00 in the dance studio.

To sign up for the audition you must complete the Google Form that is posted in Google Classroom. See details below!

Audition Details:

1. Students will learn three ballet phrases (adagio, pirouettes, grande allegro) and one modern phrase at the audition. 
   

Students will then perform the phrases in small groups.

2. Students will perform a 2-minute student choreographed solo of any style
 with or without music. 

3. Please wear dance attire and bring ballet shoes and/or jazz shoes for the audition.

There will be an informational meeting via Zoom on January 30th at 3:00 
to review the audition process and any questions you may have.
